Surf City, NC may be quiet in the winter months, but on the first morning of the New Year, thousands gather to welcome the new and wash away the old with a mad dash into the Atlantic. Unique Media & Design has been capturing the mass dunk for over a decade; however, as the participant volume has grown, so has our technology. In addition to our land, sea and air coverage, we’ll provide LIVE drone footage on Facebook, allowing viewers worldwide to be a part of “America’s Biggest New Year’s Day Swim Event.” Island natives, visitors and folks from numerous neighboring towns will gather at the Roland Beach Access by the Surf City Pier beginning at 11AM. Our aerial coverage will go live at 11:50 AM, sure to capture all the spirited costumes, icy anticipation, and the high noon countdown where over 6,000 brave souls rush the waterline for a cold cleanse. We look forward to again providing the exclusive access to what will be the biggest extravaganza in Surf City history!
